Thank you for choosing a handwritten medallion. We recreate your writing in solid brass and set it into the back of your sculpture. Sending it takes about five minutes.
What you need
- A sheet of plain white paper
- A black pen or fine marker
- A mug or glass to draw around
- Your phone camera
How to send it

Draw your circle
Stand a mug or glass on the paper and draw around it. Your medallion is 3 inches across, about the size of a mug, so that gives you the right circle to write inside. It does not need to be perfect, it is only a guide for us.

Write your wording
Write inside the circle in black pen, leaving a small gap from the line. Write the way you always do. The little quirks are what make it yours.

Take a photo
Photograph it from directly above, in daylight. No flash, the whole circle in frame, and no shadow across the paper.

Reply to the email that brought you here and attach the photo. Or email hello@sculptedpeaks.com with your order number in the subject line.

We recreate it in brass
Our team redraws your letters as clean engraving lines, engraves them into a solid brass medallion, and sets it by hand into the back of your piece. The shapes are yours. The finish is ours.
For the best result
Do
- Use black pen or a fine marker
- Keep it short: a few words or a few lines
- Shoot in daylight, straight down
- Send one clear photo per medallion
Avoid
- Pencil or ballpoint, they photograph too faint for us to trace
- Lined or colored paper
- Flash, which washes out thin strokes
- Writing that touches the circle
Not sure what to write?
The most common choices are a personal message, a special date, a favorite quote, or a name and elevation. Short and heartfelt reads best in brass.

Questions
Can someone else write it?
Yes. It can be anyone's handwriting: a partner, a child, a parent. It only needs to arrive as a clear photo.
Can I use an old letter or card?
Often, yes. Send a clear photo taken flat in daylight and tell us which words you would like. We will let you know if it will work.
What if I am not happy with my first attempt?
Write it again and send the one you like best. If you send more than one, tell us which to use.
I have not sent it yet. Is that a problem?
We start engraving your medallion once your handwriting arrives, so send it as soon as you can. If we have not heard from you, we will check in by email.
